Dermal Fillers Treatment

Dermal fillers are gel-like injectables that fill the soft tissue present beneath the skin. They are used to enhance facial features, restore volume, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They provide a subtle look which can be adjusted to meet your cosmetic needs. They are made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to add volume to the skin.

How do Dermal Fillers Work?
With aging, the facial ligaments start sagging and there is volume loss. Due to these changes, the face loses its round, beautiful shape, and wrinkles and other signs of aging start to appear. Dermal fillers work by adding volume to the area where they are injected. The hyaluronic acid in the filler attracts water, which helps to plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Which areas can be treated with dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers can be used to treat a variety of areas on the face to reduce lines and restore volume. Commonly done treatments with fillers are:

  • Cheeks lift
  • Under-eye rejuvenation
  • Lips augmentation
  • Chin enhancement
  • Jawline contouring
  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)

What happens during the treatment?
Dermal Filler Treatment is a non-surgical procedure. It doesn’t involve incisions or general anaesthesia. If you’re concerned about pain or discomfort, a numbing cream can be applied to the area before injecting the filler, which helps to minimize any discomfort.
After facial assessment strategic points will be marked as filler injection sites. The area is cleaned with antibacterial agent and dermal filler is injected using a very fine needle. The areas injected is dependent on the area(s) of concern that you have. Several areas can be treated in one session. The entire procedure takes approximately 30 minutes with minimal discomfort. Regular activities can be resumed soon after.

How quickly the result is seen and how long do they last?
The results are immediate and they improve over next 15 days as the filler hydrates. There is little to no downtime associated with dermal filler treatments. The results can last anywhere from one to two years, depending on the product used and the area treated.

Are dermal fillers safe?

At Define Aesthetics, we only use FDA-approved products and follow strict safety protocols to ensure the highest level of patient safety.
